Sliced roast beef
Cheddar cheese slices
Bread (sourdough, ciabatta, or your preferred type)
Mayonnaise or mustard (optional)
Tomato slices (optional)
Red onion slices (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Prep Ingredients: Lay out the roast beef slices, cheddar cheese slices, bread slices, and any optional toppings like lettuce, tomato, and red onion.
Assemble Sandwich: Start by spreading a thin layer of mayonnaise or mustard on one side of each bread slice, if desired. Place a few slices of roast beef on one bread slice.
Add Cheese: Lay cheddar cheese slices over the roast beef.
Add Toppings: If using, add lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and red onion slices on top of the cheese.
Season: Sprinkle a pinch of salt and a dash of pepper over the sandwich fillings to taste.
Top and Press: Place the other bread slice on top of the fillings to complete the sandwich.
Press and Cut: Gently press the sandwich together to ensure everything holds together well. You can use a sandwich press or a panini press for added crunchiness. If using a press, follow the device’s instructions. If not, you can simply press the sandwich with your hands.
Serve: Once the sandwich is pressed and the cheese is slightly melted, remove it from the press or pan. Cut the sandwich in half diagonally or as desired.
